EMAF 33 - N08: EMAF Streaming

News 2 April 2020

EMAF will be streaming parts of festival programme

FIRST PERSON PLURAL - How much "we" does the "I" contain? Under this motto, Osnabrueck was to become a meeting place for international media artists again at the end of April - until the Corona pandemic largely paralysed cultural life.

The EMAF is internationally considered one of the most influential forums for contemporary media art. Its guests include artists from all over the world. Their works should be on display in Osnabrueck from 22 April onwards - including numerous films, installations as well as talks, performances and workshops.

After the cancellation of the festival you have shown us a lot of understanding and solidarity. We thank you very much for this. At the same time, we would like to look ahead with you now: The EMAF will be publishing part of its programme on the Internet.

During the festival days from 22nd to 26th April, we will be showing the short films in the International Competition: works that seek out the traces of the past and gaps in our memory in the present, or that take us to places that are marked by conflict but also open up perspectives for a different way of living together.

This year many things will be different. Nevertheless, the online festival programme from 22 April onwards will also surprise again - we will provide more information on this at Easter.

We will also keep you up to date here at our homepage. There you will find out on April 26th who will receive this year's festival awards - the festival juries will also be continuing their work, for safety also in their own four walls.
